Comrade Monke HSU, Agent 0P is a fictional CC0 public domain character, created by Konstantinos Petrou Kefalas. He is the protagonist of a number of CC0 public domain short stories and video games created and published by Kefalas. The character is a secret agent of the Soviet Union and the Communist Bloc, residing in Russia but active internationally. He is a composite character, inspired by or based on a number of other fictional characters the creator likes.
Backstory[]
Comrade Monke was the result of an experiment by Ilya Ivanov to create a monkey superwarrior. His abilities included being ageless, super strength, and more. In addition to that, he had been given an alien device. A weird discovery by the USSR: A time-travel device. Worn like a watch around his wrist, Monke used it to go on time-traveling adventures. He had also been awarded a "Hero of the Soviet Union" honor.
Conception[]
Comrade Monke was originally just the username of creator Konstantinos Petrou Kefalas on Discord. Later the username gradually evolved into a fictional character. Comrade Monke is a mix and combination of various ideas, fictional characters, and inspirations of the creator.
Originally a time traveling emperor inspired by Kang the conqueror and real life revolutionary Hong Xiuquan and later a warlord on the planet Selene, Monke's first appearance introduced him as a soviet agent. Despite the first published story being From the motherland with love!, the first story that was ever written by the creator was On the trail of Captain Nazi. Initially inspired by Sean Connery's James Bond, he would adopt elements of David Niven's Bond in Casino Climax! while in some stories transitioning into a more Ernst Stavro Blofeld-style character.
Description[]
Monke has elements that remain consistent, including an enjoyment of drinking vodka, smoking, gambling, possesing leadership skills, and owning an animal. He is a devout Christian and at the same time a committed communist, making him a Christian communist. He has been the leader of SMERSH, a member of the Public Domain Defenders and has also been the leader of the monkey corps.
